Reignite and Connect With Your Inner Strength
When everything around you is falling apart. The people you trusted let you down. You find yourself lonely and alone. You feel lost, invisible, vulnerable, and afraid. And overwhelm has reached its capacity.
What do you do? Who do you call, where do you go? You stop and turn inside. Close your eyes and place your hand gently in the region of your heart, listen to the rhythm of your breath.
“All that you are and hope to be, is and always has been, within me.”
In the midst of stillness, you reignite and connect with your Inner Strength.
The same inner strength you drew upon that got you this far. That you listened to when your relationship was on the brink of collapse and you made the decision to leave. The inner strength that insisted you keep going until you graduated, and you finally made it, with honors. When you were afraid to speak up for what you knew was right, courage showed up and you made your voice be heard.
When you came to that fork in the road and thought you didn’t know what to do, you trusted yourself, and your choices aligned with your values. You put your kids through school, moved to a new country all by yourself, ran your own business, ran a 10k, ran all the way to the drugstore when mama desperately needed her meds. You kicked cancer in the butt, climbed to the top of your career, and closed a painful chapter with dignity, when your marriage came to an end.
When unemployment came knocking at your door will power and determination came knocking even harder. Not only did you survive, you thrived, and found your life’s purpose.
May You Just Forgot
When tears came rolling down and nobody was around, you got busy and found yourself. You were always there inside. Maybe you forget. Maybe you were buried beneath life’s challenges and trials. Maybe you just didn’t realize that you already had everything you needed and it was your Inner Strength that got you to where you are today.
Connecting with your inner strength can be scary and transformational but over time, it’s the little things that aggregate into big things that prepare you well, for life.
Let’s work with these 5 questions to empower yourself and connect with your inner strength.
- Am I aware of how strong I truly am?
- In what areas of my life do I give away my power? How do I do this?
- How would my life be different if I fully and truly accepted myself?
- When and where do I already challenge and stretch myself in life? If not, where could I?
- When specifically, could I look inside for the support and encouragement I need, rather than looking to others?
Ponder these questions over the week ahead then choose one action to move forward with.
JOURNALING
Life is not a straight line. It comes pact with detours and diversions. Just as you reach the peak, you stumble into the valley. One minute you’re flying high, the next you’ve hit a low. Journaling captures it all. Like a pressure cooker letting off steam, journaling is your place to let it all explode. To shed some tears or celebrate a milestone. To dig deep into your thoughts and feelings and express exactly what’s going on. Take the lid off the pressure to relieve stress and anxiety. Make journaling a part of your self-care routine at least once a week, and enjoy the transformation!
