Where could I take more initiative and ”create my own luck” in life?

Titles and Tiara’s
Maybe you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth and surrounded by privilege and wealth. Maybe your dad is Elon Musk and your name opens all the right doors. Maybe you’re an heiress living in Beverly Hills and you’re way ahead of the game. Maybe you’re a Clinton, Obama, or Bush, or wear the title Duke, Baron, or British Dame.
Or maybe you’re really talented with a tenor like Pavarotti. Or can sprint the track like Usain or B-ball like Chris, Koby, Kevin, or James. Maybe you’ve been gifted with an exceptional brain, have a natural affinity for making music, or have a flair for painting magnificent art.
And if you happen to fall into this small minority of people you probably already count yourself as lotto-level-lucky. But for the vast majority of everybody else, you know, the plain Jane’s, 9 to 5 Nancy, the average Jo, A.K.A, Mr ‘O’, for ordinary, for the regular Raymonds who lives next door, luck doesn’t come on a plate, you have to make your own.
But the beauty of making your own luck is that you don’t have to be particularly talented or endowed with a special gift. Your last name need not matter, your zip code, much the same. You don’t need to be well connected and who cares about your fortune or fame. The color of your skin means nothing. Your sexual orientation blah-blah, titles, and tiaras are worthless, social status and class all off, the radar.
The field is wide open for anyone to make their own luck. The question is how can you make it come your way and when it comes knocking will you be ready?
Some people seem to have all the luck and others, none at all. So what are the behaviors, patterns, and qualities that attract or repel the phenomenon we call luck?
This Thing Called Luck
What most people call luck is really a set of universal laws and life principles working in the background of life. Unseen, unheard, and mostly not fully understood, they are the immutable fundamentals of happiness, success, and well-being. As you align your body, mind, and Spirit with the workings of these laws, you increase the capacity to receive an abundance of goodness and synchronicity into your life.
And by no means in an airy-fairy, new-age fundamentalist kind of way. Aligning yourself is all about what you do and is not just a sterile state of Being. Said best by Fay Weldon:
If you do nothing unexpected, nothing unexpected happens.
So when your ‘doing’, lines up with this force, this energy with a multitude of different names and as many more interpretations, the unknown mystery we call life, bam, it creates space for luck and synchronicity to enter your world!
It comes knocking at your door as opportunities, and those who are fully prepared, take the fullest advantage and reap the biggest reward.
When you show up for life with an adventurous and bold spirit, luck will find its way in. It doesn’t even need to knock on the door, because the door is already wide open.
Zeal and excitement are endearing qualities that attract people, situations, and events you need to support you to move forward. Moving through life with an unstoppable sense of mission, unblocks the path for good things to flow your way.
Focused Action instills a level of discipline that sets you up for success. It creates a driven and enterprising mindset that once set in motion, expands the sphere of possibilities to manifest your goals and dreams. But you got to stay in the process. As long as you stay in the process, the outcome will take care of itself.
Good Choices – Poor Choices
Making good choices that are life-affirming and conducive to your core values sends a very strong signal somewhere out there that returns the reinforcement and resources that you need in the moment. There is quite literally, a direct correlation between the choices you make, your vibrational energy, and your mental orientation A.K.A mindset, and the way you experience life.
Making your own luck is really a state of being. Being positive, cultivating cheerfulness, kindness, practicing healthy habits, being open with child-like curiosity, being consistent, and developing extraordinary perseverance are the magical ingredients for making your own luck.
Be clear, focused, and courageous to make space for luck and synchronicity to enter your life!
Let’s work with these 5 questions to create that space and achieve your goals.
- What do I want? What do I really, really want? ( Make a very specific list).
- When I succeed, what is My Success usually attributable to?
- What should I be on the lookout for to change the vision I have for my life?
- What do I need to say ”Yes” and “No” to, and create more space in my life for goals? ( Make 2 lists)
- How will I recognize a good opportunity to achieve my goals – all achieve them faster?
Ponder these questions over the week ahead. Journal around then to go deeper.

No self-care plan could possibly be complete, without Journaling. There are massive health benefits all supported by science that are associated with journaling. To name but a few, your mental health, immune system, memory, and mindfulness are significantly improved, by incorporating journaling into your daily life. It’s like having a trusted friend to offload to. Take your frustrations out on. Share your deepest and darkest feelings with. A place to track your highs and lows, failures and successes. It’s that soft gentle place to land when you need to be yourself and perhaps make sense of your feelings and the world around you. Be consistent, dig deep, lay it all out, and enjoy the many benefits journaling can bring to your life.
